  3. Welcome to the December, 1994 edition of the Walnut Creek "Sampler" CDROM!
  4.  
  5. This disc contains sample programs from our line of CDROM products,
  6. ranging from MSDOS/Windows shareware to Linux/FreeBSD boot floppies
  7. to royalty-free images.  Index files of all of our discs are included
  8. to provide a reference of what is available in each of our titles.

  12. Here is a list of some important files and directories:

  14. go.bat        MSDOS batch file: views readme, view.doc, then starts VIEW.EXE
  15. view.exe      MSDOS: file viewer for the index files
  16. setup.exe     Windows: Creates Program Group & Icons for the Eletronic Catalog
  17. catalog.exe   Windows: Electronic catalog and product sampler
  18. gifview.exe   Windows: GIF viewer (included as a bonus)
  19. dirs.txt      Text file: description of the directories
  20. 00_index.txt  Text file: lists all of the files on the disc 
  21. v_inst.bat    MSDOS batch file: Installs VPIC .GIF viewer onto your HD
  22. v_uninst.bat  MSDOS batch file: Uninstalls VPIC .GIF viewer from your HD
  23. utils\        Directory: MSDOS utilities used on this disc
  24. bmp256\       Directory: .bmp pictures of our disc covers  
  25. discs\        Directory: index files & samples from our CDROMs
  26. txt\          Directory: text files describing our CDROMs
  27. docs\         Directory: miscellaneous documentation

  31. To use this disc, you will need to unarchive the compressed programs
  32. on the CDROM to your hard disk.  Files that end in the ".zip"
  33. extension are compressed.
  34.  
  35. To make browsing the disk easier, we have included the VIEW program
  36. for MSDOS in the root directory of the CDROM.  This program allows
  37. you to page through the index files and then unarchive the program(s)
  38. you want onto your hard disk.

  42. Although you may own this disc, you do not own the programs recorded
  43. on it.  Many of the programs on this disc are shareware.  You are
  44. free to try each program for a limited amount of time.  If you are
  45. satisfied, and want to continue to use the program, you are required
  46. to register the program by sending a specified amount of money
  47. directly to the author of the program.  Often the author will send
  48. you the most up to date version of the program and a printed manual.
  49. Please check the individual files for specific information.  Please
  50. help support shareware by contributing to these authors.  They make
  51. discs like this possible.
